Elusive Mom

This is a day late, but it can count for everyday.  My mother was very elusive - she dodged photography like crazy. I truly have very few pics of her and she's been gone over twenty years. But her common sense echoes in my brain.  This is her birthplace in Greentown, IN.  Humble beginnings and she stayed humble her whole life.
Somber young girl who never belonged on a farm.

She was ahead of her time. I remember her always urging me to travel, go to school, don't marry (too soon). She was a feminist before Gloria  and Betty fought the good fight.

I could use her advice today.

  3. My mum has very few photos taken of her and I don't like being photographed either so maybe it's just one of those things - but it doesn't stop us wanting to be heard and from your post you obviously "hear" your mom. 4. I'm sorry, Joanne. Yesterday must have been extra hard. I have a feeling you somehow take your mom's advice daily. I see a resemblance in looks and personality. My mom's been gone over twenty years too. But we never let go.

    Hugs.

  7. I'm sorry you lost your mom so long ago. I'm glad you took her advice about school, travel, and rushing into an early marriage. Sounds like your mom had a great head on her shoulders, which she definitely passed on to you, as well as her cute blondness, Joanne!
