Here in Texas, kids are back to school now. The summer freedom of just hitching a ride on a big kid shoulders is over. It's trudging with backpacks in the continued heat.
It's Labor Day week which now means "Yea, I'm still retired and doing what I want week."
Beaches are cleared of crowds. Now's the time to go!
What does September signal to you? Enjoy.
Yup! We never vacation during the summer. We wait until fall or very early spring so there are far fewer people.
ReplyDeleteThat’s the smart way to go. Plus weather is less extreme ( or at least it was).
DeleteHi Joanne - I try and avoid going out much in the holiday times - too much push and shove, or inane things happening - I don't need it. As you say we can do what we want, when we want - enjoy Autumn - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteHope your temperatures are pleasant now. You’ve had a hot summer. I’ve always been a fall person. Enjoy yours.
DeleteOoh, I wish I could hit the beach with you.
ReplyDeleteThe nearest beach is hours away. But I can drive to many a nice, relaxing spot with some water.
Fall is always welcome.
Alas. The TX beach is a far drive. Growing up in PA, it was only 2 hours. We’ll just have to dream it.
DeleteHappy fall.
