Silent Sunday

Photos courtesy of Ray Faries from San Saba two weeks ago. The rugged Texas hill country has its moment of colorful glory

color abounds
beware the beauty
deep deception
thorns pierce the soul

  1. Lovely flowers. Never look quite real, do they?

  2. Prickley but pretty. Love taking photos of Cacti this time of the year. Gotta be careful, tho...the rattlers like them too. That PINK is hard to find. Lots of Yellow and Orange. Very appropriate poem!

  3. Those are beautiful. The desert does have a rugged beauty.

  4. Oh lovely! I so want to visit Hill Country in spring one day.

We have something similar in South Africa in Namaqualand in August/September, but the flowers are different.
