Shoes by Joanne Faries
shoes are
the last to know
where to go
jumbled in
closet
tucked
bedside
hunkered
outside front door
they await
their master
eased or
stuffed
feet wiggle
into place
scrunched
toes
squawk mile
after mile
shoes
support decisions
tap
impatiently
hustle or
meander
cast off at
journey’s end
shoes embody
wear and tear
of life
Very nice and thought provoking. I like the metaphor, and I especially like the first and last lines. It's a powerful photo too.
ReplyDeleteBe well, Joanne.
Makes me realize the importance of a well fitting...and comfortable pair.
ReplyDeleteYou are so good at using limited words to get your point across in a poem. Good picture.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! Love the images you created in so few words. I like the photo too.
