A to Z Challenge - Elation

Elation

is more than overall happiness
it’s the sheer delight,
absolute joy of  a moment
it’s reaching the top of the rollercoaster
spotting a soaring eagle
being swept up by a crowd cheer
anticipating the moment your taxi
zooms out of the tunnel and you are overwhelmed
surrounded by skyscrapers and humanity

elation is a welcome hug at baggage claim
familiar face aglow with love

never

forgotten

  1. Perfectly put! Although "elation" isn't what I feel when I reach the top of a roller coaster...mostly it's sheer terror!

    1. Thanks. I wonder what concert you are aiming for? I was pretty close for Paul McCartney several years ago - darn exciting.

  12. Those are good examples of elation. For me, elation is writing THE END after a long writing journey.
