photos taken by Kevin Faries in Springtown, Texas last week
Paralysis by Joanne Faries
rain drips
confused by temperature variations
it floods, then takes hold,
oozes into every nook and cranny
muscles control of every pore
tightens its freezing grip
choking branches and limbs until
crack
the once strong limber tree yields in pain
And crack,
the bones break
That's some serious ice. It would snap limbs.
ReplyDeletehe's an hour away from us. We had nothing. Just rain
DeleteGreat expressive photo's Joanne. The weather certainly is a talking or should I say writing point.

DeleteBeautiful icey branches but boy can they be destructive.
ReplyDeleteyep - easy to get clunked on the head
DeleteGreat photos, and I love your poem too. Paralysis is the perfect title and your words describe a perfect ice storm.
ReplyDeleteOY! We haven't experienced an ice storm like that in quite a few years, and I hope to keep it that way.
