Monday Moments - Spelling, Sigh

Are you a constant proofreader?  I am and items leap out from the page to torment me.

This Monday moment is brought to you by the City of Bedford, Texas. On the back of the water bill, the city is kind enough to offer tips for water usage, list upcoming events, and also list classes.

Perhaps they should offer a spelling or editing class. It's PREPARATION not Preperation, folks.
Good luck with those taxes.

And I bet PETA would not be happy if you paint your pet. Turn Spot into a Stripe? Perhaps go pink or purple?  Better to paint a portrait of your pet. Now that would look good over the fireplace. It's all in the phrasing

Anything catch your eye in the paper, or a magazine, or in the mail this month?

Keep that red pen handy!

  1. I can't stand when I see spelling errors. Working in law for so many years, proofreading was part of my job. Spelling and grammar errors jump out at me. But then you call someone on it on Facebook and get called a 'nazi'.

    1. Yes. People can get defensive. But we are helping the world

  2. haha with social media I let it slide some, as people aren't always watchful, but I still make fun as the cat goes on a run. But official ones like that, yeah, rather bad more than a tad.

    1. Maybe they were thinking perspiration?
(Sorry, typo in my first comment. On a post about typos, that would look bad.)

  4. OMG, yes! After several moments consideration, I finally ordered a stainless steel "mental" band for my Fitbit from Amazon. I wonder if it will require therapy or medication.

  5. I do find those typos on things or misspelled words; sometimes I'm guilty of them myself if I'm in a hurry leaving comments on blogs :) Some can be downright funny. Did a blog post a few years ago on a sign on a church marque. It said something to the effect of not letting Satan steal your joy but they substituted the word satin (as in sheets) with Satan. That gave me a good chuckle :)

    1. Satan vs satin and throw in Santa to boot. Chuckle! We are all guilty, but this Bedford page annoyed me. Oh well. And I can laugh at myself.
