Happy Birthday Week, David

Happy Birthday (April 8th) to my baby brother, David. He's five years younger than me.

Here's  David  with his wife Cherie on a Europe trip last year

David with a beer - cheers!

He's on the cusp of being a grandfather. His  daughter, Lisa, is  due in  April.   Not sure what name he's choosing. Our younger sister, Lori (on the right) likes to gig him with "Pappy"

Happy Birthday, David!

Finally Friday Fun - Happy Birthday David

Today is my brother's (David Crowther) birthday.  Here we are many moons ago. He's five years younger than me.

Here he is - a happy retired man.  What will you do with your time, David?  Turns out he spends a lot of time helping our 90+ year old father. He's a good son!!!
David is always happy when he visits Charleston SC.  His daughter Lisa lives here. This picture was from an anniversary party for Lisa.   (David, son Jeff, daughter Lisa, and wife Cherie)

Sail into another year, David. Stay healthy and have a Happy Birthday!   Cheers!

Happy Quarantine Birthday, Brother

Happy Birthday to my baby brother, David.  I was five when he was born. This only child, accustomed to being the center of attention and the star of the world, now had to share. And that's okay. David was always a good brother - funny, goofy, with a hearty laugh.  He's loyal, kind, and he picked a darn good wife - Cherie is a gem that improves our family ten fold.

He's got two kids - grown up now - Lisa and Jeffrey.

David checks in daily with our father and for that I'm eternally grateful. He does SO much and works hard.

so - Happy Birthday, David. It's a wacky weird year, but no doubt you'll celebrate with a beer at some point.   Cheers kid-o!

Mother's Day and Graduation

Pictured - My brother David,   Jeffrey Crowther - his son the proud graduate (on time!!!) of Kutztown College PA, my sister-in-law, Cherie Gallen Crowther

My mother, Juanita Shutters Crowther, never met Jeff.  She's been gone almost 24 years now.  Oh, but she'd have gotten a kick out of the kid. He was a chunky boy with a mischievous smile. He's gotten into some very minor scrapes over the years (yes, payback is hell, David). And my mother always had a soft spot for boys. She was extremely fond of her younger brother, Rick, and David reminded her of him. While Jeff favors his mother in looks, he's got some of the impish Shutters' gene in him.

She'd have been very proud of Jeff's older sister, Lisa (not pictured) and loved her to pieces. But she'd shake her head at Jeff's antics and probably slip him that extra buck or two.

So, cheers Mom. I bet you've been looking out for Jeff through the years. Now, he's graduated and has to put on the big boy pants, find a job, make a living, and move on from the nest. Keep doing your magic, so this young man has a bright future.

Happy Mother's Day!!!!       Happy Graduation!!!!

H1: Happy Easter and Happy Birthday

Happy Easter! Officially, today is a rest day from the A to Z Blog Challenge. However, why not have an H1 greeting? Nothing says Easter like tulips.

So pretty and elusive. They don't last long, but tulips have to be a favorite. They shout spring with their color and grace.

Happy Birthday to my brother, David. Born April 8th, his birthday lands on Easter every few years and today's the day.
