Arbor Day

Earth Day was Wednesday. Arbor Day is Friday. These are assorted pictures through the years of various greenery in different seasons. Some in Texas, some in PA.

The majesty, the colors speak for themselves.

We must work to preserve and enjoy nature's bounty.

Wednesday Wisdom

 Yep - nuff said there.  Yes, it's okay to fund the arts. Duh.

 and I always say, "Look up."

In our little quarantine time, spend a moment. Sit on your front porch (like I did Sunday), and look up.

Trees - worth contemplating. Time well spent.

This is no April Fool's joke. Savor the moment.

Trees

 I forget how many trees surround my father's home. Living in Texas, my eye is always shocked when I go home - the world is enclosed in greenery, a bower of branches. Huge oaks soar The house is fifty-two years old. The trees are ancient Pennsylvania - hundreds of years

 These trees have witnessed a lot of history.

 Of all man's works of art, a cathedral is greatest. A vast and majestic tree is greater than that.  Henry Ward Beecher

We rake and rake and sweep the front porch, but soon the leaves rain down again.

Under the Tree

Walking around the Dallas arboretum makes me think of an excellent book The Secret Garden.
You want to find your special nook and make it your own corner of the world.


Perhaps a flowering bower "snowball" tree would be your favorite spot.

Or rather than hide, grab a notebook or paperback, and settle in under the shadow of a huge tree. Think of the stately oaks in Gone With the Wind, or branches scratching a window in a horror story. Read or write your own tale under the tree.
