Finally Friday - Christmas Season Filler - Enjoy

Friday after Christmas filler.   Here's  Myles invading Blue the cat's space in South Carolina.  So far, Blue tolerates Myles - 8 months old.  But, I'm sure he's hoping this kid leaves at some point. 
 

Some beach town in SC had a Christmas tree and there's Myles.  Thank goodness, Santa was not around. No tears.

Here's a super Texas oldie pic - this Santa is no longer  around and we do  NOT expect  a white Christmas. 

A very fun oldie Christmas morning with Dakota.  She is now eight years old.  Can't say what she's getting this year.  A car?  A phone?   Meanwhile,  this was sheer joy. 

Hope everyone is enjoying the post Christmas hangover...yea, for family time....are they gone yet?

Our YMCA is open, so we are back at water aerobics (me), and Pickleball (Ray).

Ray went hunting  over Thanksgiving.   Whew!  No deer were harmed in this adventure. 

Meanwhile, I put out some Christmas cheer.  Fun to see the splash of red  once again. 

 When Ray got home,  he  donned his elf hat and worked on his light extravaganza.

Finally Friday - Round the Corner Christmas Whoa

After Thanksgiving weekend, Ray and I headed out for  our usual  morning walk.  We rounded a corner and.....Whoa!   

Wow!   Bumble, the  Abominable Snowman greeted us.  Quite the surprise. 

Hard to believe the original Rudolph movie  is celebrating sixty years. Old Burl Ives memory lives on with his song playing  everywhere. 

Go out for a walk this December  season. New decorative surprises await.

TGIF - Christmas edition

 TGIF - I'm off to work today. But here's a glimpse of some fun from last Monday night. We drove/walked through Prairie Lights wonderland.  It sure gave us the spirit.

and Christmas morning - does life get any better if you have a new pair of hot pink boots (I know my pic makes them look red).  This 2 year old was thrilled!

The season is winding down. Hope everyone is still enjoying some new treats, nibbling on sweets, and laughing with family and friends.

I hope your Wednesday Christmas is merry and bright. We'll be up bright and early to trek to Kevin's house. We'll see the girls be excited over Santa surprises. Breakfast and then lunch. Family visit, laughs, and joy.  I can only hope there's peace for all.  I know that's not reality, but we have to keep working toward it.

The season is moving along rapidly. Hope everyone is taking time out to enjoy family and friends, stroll through a garden, or just sit and stare at your own Christmas tree. Ray and I do that a lot. Go for some calm amidst the clamor. And yes, eat another cookie...

Clean Up on Aisle Bedford

It's filler week  for Christmas season.  Hope everyone enjoyed their Tuesday with family, friends, and good cheer. I'm back to work - no rest for Omega Research.

Ray and I cleaned up our act on December 15th and went to his company Christmas party. It takes a lot for me to put on pantyhose and big girl shoes - no crazy heels, but "dressy".

Not too shabby.
We had a very nice time in Dallas and stayed overnight at the Renaissance Hotel.  Quite a treat.

Wednesday Whimsy

countdown to Christmas with some Wednesday whimsy.

 I hit the L.D. Bell High School craft fair last weekend. Some folks are so clever - plenty of Christmas-palooza wreaths, ornaments, snowmen, Santas, and reindeer. I wandered the halls, and then this little fellow called out to me. Hand sewn and so cute. He's normally hanging out in my kitchen now, but I decided a poolside pic was in order.

Merry Christmas Week 2017

Some whimsy and calm before the storm. All the packages are wrapped with care awaiting squeals of little girls - Makyla is 9, Skylar is 2, Dakota is 7 months, and Abby (no doubt playing it cool) is 13.
Plenty of fun under the tree for all.  We are very fortunate to be able to overindulge at Christmas time.

Family events begin on Saturday 12/23 and carry on through the weekend.

Then back to work for me on Tuesday and a blog break until after the New Year strikes.

Wacky Wednesday

 Sunday December 3rd our little writing/reading group gathered to celebrate Christmas, writing, and friendship. We enjoyed a fabulous meal cooked by Becky Thorne. We shared Christmas stories - some of our own or pieces we enjoyed from other sources. I pulled out something my mother saved from Mrs. Baldwin's Second Grade Class. Yes, I was a writer even back then.

Then we began a Christmas swap with wrapped used books that we chose to bring from our own libraries. Quite a collection that we switched, swapped, and fought over.

 Interesting that Bonnie Pemberton brought a book called Pemberton. No relation, but she said it was quite good.  I believe Peggy ended up with that one.

We were missing a few people (Stacy, Ann, and Beth), but this wacky group included
Lauren, Peggy, Bonnie, Me, plus Deb and Becky.

Naughty or Nice, it was a Word Gathering Festivity.
