Whatever Wednesday - Winter Art

Remember I zoomed up to Delaware to hang with my sister and we went to Longwood  Gardens?  Here are a few treats from their conservatory.  This is a wire sculpture "tree" in a planter.  Very cool, right?

 And here's another.  My pictures  don't really show the haunting shadows, but I liked the window  reflection. 

Then walking outdoors, this illuminated structure and its shadows left me in awe. 

I hope your January or February has a moment of wonderment.  If it's outdoors - bundle up!

Monday Moments - Winter Wonderland

Well, I zoomed up to Delaware to hang with my sister, Lori.  Note to self: um, it's a bit cold in January. What the heck. We bundled up and went to Longwood Gardens (a glorious place) for the grand finale of their Christmas lights.

We warmed up in their fabulous conservatory.  Gotta  love the Orchid room.  Wow!!!!!

And how about an all succulents Christmas tree.  So pretty.   A feast for the eyes. 

Don't let cold weather get in the way of fun.

P.S.  I believe the flag should still be at half staff in honor/memory of Jimmy Carter.

(get over yourself DJT and be the bigger man.  Ha - that will never happen)

Also - it's Martin Luther King Day. I salute his memory.  Folks are still trying to reach the mountaintop. 

And Good Luck America.  Buckle up, it's gonna be a bumpy ride

Monday Mania - More Flower Power

More flower power at the Longwood  Gardens. This was the property of Pierre DuPont.  Oh yeah, money honey

and as dusk fell, Bruce Munro's installations came to life...outdoors

 Then the grand fountain/music show outside. This picture does not  do justice to the  fountain/flame combo.   It was  fabulous.  Philly Soul Rocks!

Fabulous Friday - Longwood Gardens

While in PA, my sister took me to Longwood  Gardens. It had been awhile since I've been there. Still fabulous. And they had special light installations by Bruce Munro. Plus the fountain show to music - we saw/heard the Philly Love special - tunes by Patti LaBelle, Bruce Springsteen, Hall & Oates, and more.

Wordless Wednesday - Christmas Edition

How's that for a Wow! display?  My sister snapped this pic at Longwood Gardens and sent it to me the other night.

The season is moving along rapidly. Hope everyone is taking time out to enjoy family and friends, stroll through a garden, or just sit and stare at your own Christmas tree. Ray and I do that a lot. Go for some calm amidst the clamor. And yes, eat another cookie...

Almost Wordless Wednesday :Lori and Longwood Gardens

 Here is my baby sister, Lori, celebrating her birthday (11/25) at Longwood Gardens.
They are glorious. I've been there in the past - lovely light displays, the gardens themselves, and a wonderful fountain show.

 See what I mean?  Feeling the spirit?
