Whatever Wednesday - Tell No One by Harlan Coben

Tell No One by Harlan Coben is a reliable well written thriller.  This author knows how to keep you turning pages, and there are a lot of twists and turns.

Elizabeth and David Beck always return to the Lake place that has been a key  to their lives since childhood. But on their thirteenth wedding anniversary, Elizabeth is kidnapped and murdered. David is left for dead.

But....after eight years, an image of Elizabeth appears on David's computer screen.

back blurb:  Is it just a practical joke? Is Elizabeth alive? Beck is chasing a ghost whose messages hold out a desperate hope - and warn him to tell no one. But soon Dr. Beck himself is being hunted down...

Whew!  Coben kept me guessing. The pace is heart pounding, and the end is satisfying.

Book review - Don't Let Go by Harlan Coben

I shuffled through various books a friend swapped with me. I needed a no-brainer entertaining read. Harlan Coben is a reliable writer and Don't Let Go filled the bill. Fast paced, this book churns with action and emotion. Coben fleshes out his characters and hasn't become a lazy writer. He still explores secrets, lies, and maintains suspense.

New Jersey suburbs - Detective "Nap" Dumas hasn't been the same since high school. His twin brother, Leo, and Leo's girlfriend, Diana, were found dead on the railroad tracks. Nap's true love, Maura,  disappeared.

cover blurb - For fifteen years, Nap has been searching  for Maura and for the real reason behind his brother's death.

Fingerprints, an abandoned military base, childhood friends and a secret group. Nap embarks on a quest for answers - far more sinister than he dared imagine.

I didn't let go of this book until I zoomed to the end and was surprised by the twists and turns. Thumbs up, good read.

Book Review: Hold Tight by Harlan Coben

Harlan Coben knows how to ratchet tension quickly. In Hold Tight, he begins with a woman's kidnapping and murder. Then we meet Dr. Mike Baye, his wife, attorney Tia, teen son Adam, and pre-teen daughter Jill - seems like the perfect family. However, the parents are monitoring their son's computer. His behavior's changed and his "best" friend Spencer Hill committed suicide. Adam's uncommunicative. Lots of worry and tension.

Plus Coben has his reader witness another woman's kidnapping and murder. What's going on? Is all of this connected? Should we be worried for Adam, who's gone missing? Yowza!

Harlan Coben writes a tight paced mystery thriller. He throws a lot of balls in the air, keeps his reader guessing, and then slowly catches each ball and shows us more clues. Hold Tight is a very fun quick read. Interesting characters, sharp dialogue, some red herrings, and a taut finish.

I'm not going to say anymore, as I don't want to spoil anyone's read. Just hold tight and grasp at clues!!
