Underwater Wednesday

Over 3 inches last night, more rain headed this way all day. Splish-splash and pretend you're a duck.

Heard on the radio that a parking garage at Love Field Airport had a level submerged in water. Uh-oh for folks arriving back from a flight.

U = Underwater

That's how I'll feel today at work. UPS brought a lot of boxes yesterday that we unpacked. Today I begin sorting reports and typing results for tests.

Ugh if anything fails (including me)

Good luck with underwater Wednesday. Don't forget the umbrella.

A to Z - Eye on Texas: U

Eye on Texas seeks Utopia....Texas - it's a census designated town with approximately 200 people. It was originally called Waresville. Then the citizens found that the name Montana was taken, so they chose Utopia. Tucked in the Hill Country west of San Antonio,  it basks in the Sabinal river and scenic views.

Enjoy Lost Maples nature area. Cypress and Pecan trees abound. Bed and Breakfasts offer a romantic getaway.
"Seven Days in Utopia" was filmed here and you can play a round of golf at the Utopia Golf Course.

Utopia is Texas Hill Country Paradise

And let's hear from the Countess - "My dear, we country dwellers must beware of being provincial. Try and let your time in London rub off on you a little more. "

A to Z Challenge - Under my Umbrella of names. The letter U

I take umbrage in that there are no popular U names for 1920s or for 2010s.  None?

Let's find some for new characters:
Female:
Uald (Teutonic)  a brave ruler
Uberta (Italian) a bright woman
Ule (English)  one who shoulders burdens
Ulicia (Irish)  playful heart
Uriana (greek) from the unknown, heavenly
Uzoma (African) one who takes the right path

Now U-Men
U (Korean) a kind and gentle man
Uberto (Italian) a shining intellect
Uigbiorn (Norse) a warrior bear
Ulmer(German), Ullock(English), Ulger(English), Ulf(german) - these all have wolf connotations
Uros (Hungarian)  the little lord
Uwe (German) of the blade
Uzamati (Native American)  resembling a grizzly bear

U names have to fight to be heard....or howl like a wolf

U: Un-it-all

#atozchallenge

U

U is a rather sad letter. I don't have any great U pictures. Umbrella is too obvious. I shall check out other blogs and no doubt be amazed at others' creativity. Then again, maybe they've visited Uganda or Uzbekistan. I take it back - I've visited Utah and it's a lovely state. But my pictures are labeled Bryce or Zion - that's how I think of them, by the national parks we visited.

Unconscious - By undertanding the unconscious we free ourselves from its domination - Carl Jung

Understanding - You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view - until you climb into his skin and walk around in it - Harper Lee/ To Kill a Mockingbird

University - I was dropped by New York University because of bad marks. I was a film major - Woody Allen

My deadly poisons handbook has no listing for U. We are all safe today.
