Grapple
with
life struggles
pshaw,
the world snorts
at
my innocence
grasp
the concept of despair
desperation,
naïve I give to charity
feel
like I made a difference
while
people clutch at air
shuffle
their tarot cards
too
much death, no gold
pray
for heaven as they live a
hell
(Happy Friday everybody - yes I promise to lighten up soon)

Definitely pray!

DeleteIt is so tough to make a difference...and frustrating that it's so tough. There's only so much we can do, only so many people we can help with our volunteer time and donations.
ReplyDeletebut we have to keep trying
DeleteIt is hard sometimes to grapple with decisions.
ReplyDeletebetty
yes, some can solve quickly, others never
DeleteThat's very poignant! Grappling is sometimes hard to do.

thanks. I was in a weird moment when I wrote this - grappling with words
DeleteCan be tough to help out or get help too, but every little bit helps
ReplyDeleteand you can work through it
DeleteThis is powerful and real. I think it's one of your best.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, Joanne.
I appreciate that very much
DeleteMeh. I'm not going to Hell.
ReplyDeleteHmm...on the other hand, I'm not going to Heaven.
I'm spending 1,000 years in Purgatory.
Well, now, that is a depressing thought with which to grapple.
I want to be where it's warm - rather laugh with the sinners - as Billy Joel sang

ReplyDeletePrayer is where it's at. And I've always found the word grapple to be a funny word. Not sure why. Grapple. it's funny.
ReplyDeleteit's close to grappa...the Greek drink, and that's funny too
DeleteI think our efforts do help and do make a difference, but it's frustrating because there is always more to be done and more in need. Deep and thoughtful post today, Joanne. Hope you have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteenjoy your weekend too
DeleteGosh! You really are grappling with despair here. Glad you're going to lighten up soon. Too much despair is not good for anyone.
ReplyDeleteI go happy on Saturday. It's all good
DeletePeople do have different concepts of what it means to truly live.
ReplyDeleteyep. tune in Sat for happiness
DeleteWe all make a difference in our own way. I say, 'Let them Snort'.
