hot summer day
let's not talk
just revel in the heat
absorb the sounds
wind
cicadas
children splashing in a pool
chug of a lawnmower
clink of ice in a glass
Sounds like a good idea! Except the cicadas...the ones that come out every 13 years freak me out!!! Those red beady eyes and the way they cling to you. But the ones that stay in hiding and just make noise are all good.
For once, I'm reading about your hot summer and experiencing my own (Okay, ours will last a few days, but still...) Lemonade would be great right now :-)

ReplyDeleteYeah. I was aiming for just the noisy background
DeleteI'd hide inside with the AC as I watch with thee.
ReplyDeleteOur AC works great
DeleteThat describes our summers all right.
ReplyDeleteSultry and sweltering
DeleteI'm with Pat Hatt....hiding inside the house with fans and a/c!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh you northern folks waiting for snow!!! Believe me I am a wimp compared to real Texans
DeleteWe've been remarkably lucky here on the island. The sun is hot but the sea breezes have been wonderful this summer.
ReplyDeleteA sea breeze would be welcome. Ours is more the hair dryer effect
DeleteI will drink to that!

ReplyDeleteGreat post Joanne,
Yvonne.

DeleteI like this! I like that you ended with "sizzle," and that you paired it with those bright red-hot umbrellas. Nicely done!
ReplyDeletethanks. believe me, step foot out from under the umbrella and sizzle is apt
