Labor Day Weekend and Anniversary

It's  Labor  Day Weekend.   It's also  our Wedding Anniversary on Monday, September 1

Here's a good photo from two years  ago  in Pensacola

And  a few years ago in Vegas - Ray's my LOVE
Who were these kids?

And thirty six years ago we said "I do" at the justice of the peace

Not sure how  we'll celebrate this year, but through thick and thin, and older and older, we've been laughing.   Ray's my guy.   Happy Anniversary  and thanks  for putting up with ME.

Finally Friday - Happy Anniversary

Here we are on the beach in Pensacola FL.   Wedding  vows were said by  Chris and  Krystal on 7/31/2023.

Thirty Four (!) years ago, Ray and  I both said "I Do" in front of a Justice of the Peace in Arlington.

We've had a lot of adventures since then, and have had a lot of just drudgery days too.  That's marriage.  Good/ bad, better/  worse, Fun/ sad - the full gamut of emotions.

When you look at the history backdrop of 34 years -  9/11, Covid, and more - it's  all a bit daunting.

But, somehow we've always found beach time,  pool time, or just  plain old hang out time.

On paper,  we are an  odd couple.  In real life - we do have fun.  He  laughs at the crap that comes out of my mouth.  He's a keeper!

Love ya Ray

Happy Anniversary Ray

33 years ago, we said "I do" in front of a Justice of the Peace. And the next day we had a big party - margarita machine and two cakes (one chocolate groom's cake and one lemon wedding  cake)
Ray may try to hide from me once  in awhile, but he always comes back.   "No dear, you don't need to bring the dead deer with you, " I say.

33 years later, we are hanging out and having fun.  It's a good gig - this marriage thing.

Thirty Years

Today, September 1, 2019 is our 30th wedding anniversary. It's also the opening day of dove season. Yes,  I got flowers (so pretty) and Ray went dove hunting. It's a successful marriage.  We had a wonderful anniversary lunch on Friday at Chef Point - I'm talking gourmet, melt-in-the mouth food. And we shared dessert - key lime pie. I'm good for 30 more years.

Just hard to fathom - the time has gone by fast. We met and did not text all day. We talked in the morning. We talked at night. On a land line. I created mix tapes for him. Then moved to CDs.
We'd go to Blockbuster together and pick out  a movie to watch.

We laugh. We love to travel together. And he's still a darn good cook - those sour cream chicken enchiladas are to die for. And we can just sit in the same room and breathe. Well..yeah, then I have to talk, and yeah he nods at the right time and says, "hmm, okay."

Lots of teensy moments that add up to the real deal.  So, happy anniversary Ray. Thanks for putting up with me for 30 years and vice versa. Have fun hunting...just don't bring home any victories.

Seriously - I'm good with just looking at my flowers.
