It doesn't look like much, but this is a Dallas-Forth Worth "Ice Event" - the latest weather terminology. We had thunder. We had sleet. Hence "thundersleet" - another new vocabulary word
My boss texted this morning to NOT come for now. Heavy sleet and bad road conditions. We might reassess at noon. A co-worker with 4-wheel drive called me and said he was headed back home - too nasty.
So, for all my friends in the Northeast - you are working far too hard with the shovels and plows, etc.
All it takes is a quarter inch of sleet to halt the DFW economy and world. I am home safe and warm.
Poor Ray - he headed out - east to north Dallas where Knight Electronics does not stop. I haven't heard from him.....hope he's okay as of 8:15 this am.
Muddling maudling me … life!

Yay for 'Thundersleet' if it makes for a three day weekend...or even a two and half. Poor Ray is right...hope he made it across Dallas which would be like 'over and around the spaghetti express ways' to grandma's house. Stay warm and cozy...it's a good book day or perhaps a review on the Oscars...eh!

thanks Sue - Ray did make it to work. Nobody on the roads but he said it was awful. The Oscars were a snoozefest - very disappointing. I indeed shall read and maybe even do some writing myself. Take care
DeleteSorry about the "thundersleet" conditions. Glad Ray made it safely to his destination. Nice photos!

Thundersleet--that's a new term for me too! I know how dangerous ice can make the roads. Glad you got to stay warm at home.
ReplyDeleteHey, down here near Beaumont no one knows how to drive in a half inch of ice. I thank God I work somewhere where they don't insist you come in no matter what....in fact they say don't come if you aren't comfortable.
