Something different on a Sunday - a jaunt to the Dallas Farmer's Market. It's rather small, but definitely in a growth phase.

It was off season on a Sunday - not much produce. We enjoyed breakfast tacos at a new taqueira. More restaurants are coming along with other touristy shops in The Market area. Ray and I enjoyed our walk around the area and I would come back to try out new places.

ReplyDeleteYes I believe there were a few.
DeleteNeat pictures. I like that colorful Pegasus. I enjoy going to Farmer's Markets. When I go to one here, I am always in search of fresh peaches and blueberries.
ReplyDeleteI like strawberries
DeleteFarmers markets in Leicester always involve sausages sizzling on a griddle and displays of locally made bread, wine, chutney etc. Dallas sounds so romantic and exciting. I'm such an untravelled English woman, aren't I
ReplyDeleteVice versa. Yours sound very quaint
DeleteSounds fun. I haven't been to any farmer markets here yet. I like to people watch when I do do.

We need to go again in spring when there is more variety.
DeleteI really like Farmer's Markets. I tend to end up paying double price for something a little better than what the supermarket offers. In a local park we get a French Market twice a year; great cheese, olives and bread! (That's just on the edge of Greater London, UK).

Sounds lovely. And yes I pay for for "healthy"
DeleteWhen I lived in Houston I loved going to the farmer's market there! We have a good one here in Gloucester but in Houston farmers came up from the Rio Grande Valley and brought such great produce.

ReplyDeleteHi Joanne - we do have farmers' markets ... but living on the coast they are not necessarily that convenient - but there's an excellent Farm Shop with Pick Your Own about 8 miles north - which I visit. Love fresh produce ... that Dallas one I'm sure will be successful, once it's established ...
ReplyDeleteI need to pick up some tomatoes and onions to make some sauce ... and then some apples and fruits for fruit stews ... all to freeze - Cheers Hilary
sounds like you are preparing for the winter ahead.
DeleteI always miss the farmers markets in my local area. I'm just really bad at shopping for anything!

DeleteI love browsing Farmers Markets. That looks like a good one!
ReplyDeleteRoom to grow. I will go back
DeleteNo access to farmers' markets where I live. Fresh produce fix indulged nonstop only on home leaves.
