My brother sent pics from Dad's yard in PA. Once in a blue moon, when the temps and rainfall were just right, his rhododendron go crazy. This is the year. Otherwise it's a jungle looking mess.
But Dad is a happy man in 2020.
Hope you have a happy safe weekend - still not going crazy in TX. Maybe we already were crazy, we're just not going out and spreading it to any one else.
P.S. I did get a haircut. All very sanitized. Just so you know, little snips of hair do fly into the mask and make it itchy. Oh no - must scratch nose!
Love the rhododendron! I've never seen bushes that big!
ReplyDeleteit's a jungle when not in bloom. This is just a banner year
DeleteHi Joanne - can believe the itches ... hair is incredible when it's not on the head! Hope you feel more comfortable with shorter locks ... I'll be desperate for my few soon! Your dad's yard looks delightful - when they flower they're wonderful aren't they ... and this year is the year. Carry on taking care - Hilary
ReplyDeletemy head felt lighter today.
DeleteLove this picture, especially as the deer have completely decimated my rhodies...not sure they will ever return. Twenty-eight years of planting and grooming and only to be chewed to death over a couple of nasty, deer-hungry winters. Getting a hair cut today!
ReplyDeleteDad has deer but I guess they didn't chew 'em up.
DeleteAnd hope the hair cut is fabulous!
Your dad's rhododendrons are gorgeous! So's his lawn. I hope it's safe for you to go visit him soon.
ReplyDeleteBoy, I need a haircut, too, but I'm not ready to venture out for one just yet. I already cut (i.e mangled) my hair in the front, so at least I can see, and the cats aren't complaining about my longer hair. Yet. :)
Take care, and have a super weekend.
I had hacked at my hair one night (perhaps alcohol was involved). Anyway, the stylist forgave me - said I didn't do too bad.
DeleteWhew! Feels better.
Thanks so much for the post card. It was very sweet of you. :)
DeleteHey - my timing might have been "off" but I am thinking of you. Take care!
DeleteWhat a beautiful uplifting photo during this sad crisis. Thanks for sharing Joanne.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
You are welcome on a Friday.
DeleteI made hair appt for June 3 when it was announced that we would have a stage 2.5 where some stores and places are open. So I will get a color and cut, praise be to God.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are lovely. Haven't seen rhododendron in years!
I'm sure your place will make it safe and sanitary. And you'll feel better!
DeleteThat's a lively, glorious sight, and I can imagine the heavenly scent. Glad your brother gifted you with the photo.
ReplyDeleteHave a safe, pleasant weekend, my friend. Enjoy your new haircut -- right on time for the summer Texas heat.
I call it swim hair cut - sassier and shorter for the pool. Felt good today - I think I did move faster - ha!
DeleteGotta scratch that itch...when germ free and home lol
ReplyDeleteWow, those rhododendrons are amazing! They really are doing well--so pretty.
