Outside the stadium a huge seahawk pecks Ray on the head
It was a sunny Sunday 7/12 in Seattle. Perfect day for baseball - not too hot, not too windy. Safeco Field was a very nice open ballpark. We were impressed
Folks from CA took our pic and vice versa. There's no crying at baseball - everyone's friendly.
cute statue
Saw this during a walkaround. Our seats were quite safe. The Mariners did stink it up, losing 10-3 against the hated (for Texas fans) Angels.

Looks like fun. The first picture gave me a good chuckle. :)
ReplyDeleteI had him pose for it. Thought it would be amusing
DeleteSorry they lost! But nothing more fun than seeing baseball in person.
ReplyDeleteWe like visiting different stadiums. Been to half now. Favorite is Wrigley Field - that's a shrine. (and I like cool temp. locations)
DeleteNot a fan of baseball myself, but enjoyed seeing the sights!

The real shrine in Chicago was old Comiskey Park, which they tore down, unfortunately. That was the most beautiful place I ever saw a ballgame. Built before Wrigley Field or Fenway Park, torn down in 1991. A very sad end to the best ballpark I was ever in...
ReplyDeleteIt's sad that they have to put signs up on the screen to remind people to pay attention to the field, but too many people go to the ballgame and play with their phones. I miss the days when people went to the ballgame, showed up before it started and didn't leave until it was over. Dodger Stadium is the worst: the place is half-empty when the game starts and everyone starts leaving after the 7th-inning stretch.
you are a baseball fan. New Comisky is a concrete block. I liked old Shea. Haven't been to new one. I admit in Texas when it's still 99 deg. at the 7th inning - I stretch and leave.
DeleteThat's such a nice stadium, and such a nice couple!
ReplyDeleteSorry it wasn't even a close score.
you win some, you lose some. It was a pretty day
DeleteWow. I've never been to a live game. Should be fun judging by your post. :)
ReplyDeletebaseball has its moments. A nice day helps
