Easter weekend in San Saba Texas (at Ray's Aunt Pat) means plenty of sitting on the front patio and watching the hummingbirds. There's a steady hum in the air and they dart every which way. I did take a video but do not appear to be clever enough to upload it.
So, hum a happy tune on a Wednesday. Sip your version of sugar water - soda, sweet tea, or a milkshake. And zip about doing your chores.
Hey - we are halfway through the first week of April. Not too shabby.
Hi Joanne - sounds a fun, peaceful time ... I'll join you with 'Whistling a Happy Tune' ... well I'll hum the whistling tune! Yes I need to zip - it's a wee bit chilly here - but I won't talk to you about frostbite this year!! Cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteour temps are all over the place right now, but aiming for hot soon. Yes - you would enjoy time at Pat's.
DeleteNice shots. Hummingbirds are fascinating to watch.
ReplyDeleteExactly. They are frenetic
DeleteWjat a lovely way to spend Easter weekend. I envy you.
ReplyDeleteHope you are well.
Yvonne.
we needed that little break from the normal routine. It was nice. You'll get out soon enough. Patience and take care
DeleteYou made my day! I am addicted to hummingbirds. I have three feeders in my backyard. This year it may end up being four. I just love watching the little fellas flit across the yard, into the garden, levitating. It will only be a few weeks before I can put my feeders out again. Do you know hummingbirds have memory? They come back to the same place to feed. I've actually had them hovering by the window before I've put the feeders out for the season, as if to say, "Get with it lady!"
ReplyDeleteYep - Pat looked for the scout - always around the same time and sure enough - it said "C'mon" to the whole gang. Quite fascinating
DeleteThey sure can fly in and out and chow down quick. Keep on sipping.
ReplyDeletefreaky fast!
DeleteGreat shots! Sounds like you had a lovely break.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Patience - they move so fast, I had to click, click, click. Fun!
DeleteThat's a charming scene, perfect for the humming.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy springtime sights, Joanne.
