Wednesday Walk - Cleburne State Park - part 2

As promised, more Cleburne State Park from May 26th.  You can see it's a gorgeous day. And there's Ray still ready to trudge along.  We are headed up to the CCC Spillway.  Alas, no water  was showing off in waterfalls. Texas has  just been too dry.
But the  work of the Civilian  Conservation Corp back in  the 1930s was superb.
You think of Texas as really flat,  but there is some dramatic  elevation  here in limestone.
Truly breathtaking
This was definitely worth stopping  the  car and  following  the  trail.

Find your next adventure in  your own backyard (i.e. within an hour's drive, I bet)

And our final reward for our trail treks. Once back in the car, we drove into  Cleburne and found a really tasty Tex-Mex place - La Fiesta.  Mmmm. enchiladas for me. Fajitas for Ray.

Once home, it was siesta time.  Perfect day.

  1. Interesting landscape. I'm glad you keep exploring treasures like this, and get good food in the process too.

  2. Hi Joanne - it does sound a lovely trip for the two of you ... and also for Ray to try his knee out - sounds like a good surgery ... whereas food - a necessary 'evil'! Cheers Hilary
