Finally Friday

This is my favorite piece at the Modern Museum of Fort Worth.  Ladder for Booker T. Washington by Martin Puryear.  It seems simple and yet every time I view it, I have deeper thoughts.

Can one reach the top or is that impossible? Are there difficulties along the way?

I love the shadows in this pic from the ladder. Other paths one can choose.

We are finally at a Friday. What's up for the weekend?  I hope you have plenty of choices and choose wisely. Climb safely whether you are at the bottom and need to get going, or near the top - don't lean too far and fall.   Do you see the light?  Or are wary of the shadows?

Be safe everyone. Stay healthy.  Cheers  to you all. We made it another week.  Whew!

  1. The shadows are very cool.
And speaking of cool - mid 50's this morning. Finally!

    1. cool indeed - we were low 60s. That's made the pool a bit challenging. I figured I was done - we'll see what happens Sat.

  2. Hi Joanne - I hope the light is appearing from our long dark shadow of time ... where some have been rushed off their feet helping their peoples live and the country keep going, others have felt too bored and fed up with it all ... people and life!

We're opening up - had a meeting with 80 yesterday and have a dinner with 50+ in mid Oct ... and yes it's cooling down here too - we're at 60 F on the south coast.

Going to see a film about: 'Hilma af Klint was an abstract artist before the term existed, a visionary, trailblazing figure who, inspired by spiritualism, modern science, and the riches of the natural world around her, began in 1906 to reel out a series of huge, colourful, sensual, strange works without precedent in painting'. It'll be interesting ... and saw one on a British lady who was inspirational in keeping authentic Mexican culinary process at the fore - she's still alive aged 98! I will post.

Cheers and enjoy the weekend - Hilary

  3. Reminded me of childhood games of Snakes and Ladders! Much fun was had.

Climbing cautiously and keeping a lookout for the snakes - can't go wrong with that.
